Any business that is willing to join the
Consumer Arbitration Centre. After becoming an
‘Adherent’, the business should stand to its
commitment that submission of a dispute to the
Arbitration Centre is voluntary.
Application procedures and required documents
The business applying to become an ‘Adherent’ need to
submit:
1.
‘Adherent’ application form provided by Consumer Council;
2.
Valid proof of representation of applicant for the
business, e.g. copy of business registration
document or business tax forms, etc.;
3.
ID card copy of the person in charge of the business or
the authorized representative. Should an
authorized representative be involved, he/she
must present a certified authorization letter
signed by the person in charge when submitting
the application form to the Council.
4.
A photo of the business shop front with the name of the
business being displayed explicitly.
Remark:
For consumer disputes in which the claims involved do not
exceed MOP 50,000 (patacas) and is occurring in
the territory of Macao, the involved parties may
agree to submit the dispute(s) to Consumer
Council for solution.
Fees: free of charge.
(Time) 'Adherent' application : Business applying to become an ‘Adherent’
will be notified of the approval status within
10 working days upon receiving all necessary
forms and information by the Council.
‘Certified Shop’ emblem conferment :
Business which has been accepted as an
‘Adherent’ will need to undergo an assessment by
Consumer Council. The business will be awarded
the ‘Certified Shop’ emblem on completion of 1
year as an ‘Adherent’ if it passes the
assessment.
Remark:
1 year is calculated as 12 months from the month
