Retain shopping receipts to enter lucky draw activity

The “Keep your receipts 2021” activity organized by the Consumer Council has started and the registration period ends on 14 May. A total of 85 prizes are available and consumers are welcome to participate.

In order to make consumers aware of the importance of keeping their receipts after making purchases, and to encourage the habit of keeping them, the Consumer Council started organizing the “Keep your shopping receipts” activity since 2014, over 34,000 entries have been recorded and the expected goal has been achieved.

Registration period till 14 May

The “Keep your receipts 2021” activity is now open for registration for lucky draw until 15 May, a total of 85 prizes are available in which 5 winners will be drawn for cash voucher of MOP1,000 each, the rest of 80 winners will be drawn for a special edition “Certified Shop” Macau Pass electronic currency card (with MOP100 stored value) each.

Local citizens aged 15 or above before deadline of the event are eligible to participate, consumers may register with shopping receipts issued by “Certified Shops” with a single transaction amount of at least MOP50.

Registration online or in-person

Consumers may choose to participate via (1) register using the “Certified Shop” app; (2) submit the shopping receipt with the required information to the collection boxes located at the Consumer Council (Av. Horta e Costa, N.º 26 r/c or the Government Integrated Services Center in Areia Preta). Each shopping receipt can only be registered once.

Details and regulations of the activity can be found on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), consumers are reminded to fill in their personal data according to the admission rules and must retain the original copy of receipt as proof to be presented for obtaining prizes.

Shopping receipts safeguard right to claim

The Council’s emphasizes the importance of shopping receipts as evidence in consumer disputes and reminds consumers to develop the habit of retaining shopping receipts.

The “Certified Shop” accreditation mechanism requires all “Certified Shops” to provide shopping receipts to consumers. Over 1,000 shops participate in the “Keep your receipts 2021” activity, consumers shopping at “Certified Shops” may enjoy better service and participate in the lucky draw event.
