Formalities and required documents
The applicant may download the application forms in the download area.
Complete an original copy of “Declaration for Acceptance of Arbitration” (form A2), “Online account and contact person” (form A2-2 – only for first time application and submission), and “Adherents” registration form (form A3).
The applicant may also complete the details using the online service on the Consumer Council’s website,
download the “Declaration for Acceptance of Arbitration” (form A2) and sign according to the signature(s) on the identity document(s) of the business owner(s), and submit the form together with the ID copy/copies of the legally authorized signatory/signatories to the Council.

Upon receipt of the application form and other information from the business, approval result will be available within 20 working days. (Performance Pledge)
Remark
1. The application form shall be signed by legal representative(s) of the enterprise in accordance with the specimens of signature as indicated on the identity card. [In case of an individual enterprise or Sole Proprietor, the owner of the enterprise represents himself as the legal representative. Should a commercial enterprise be set up in form of a limited company, the legal representative(s) is equivalent to the person who can represent the enterprise to participate in litigation or arbitration under the Articles of Association. (In the event that a member of an Administrative Authority is entitled to represent the enterprise, it means that the member of the Administrative Authority is regarded as the legal representative.)]
2. In accordance with the “Consumer Mediation and Arbitration Centre Regulations”, a business that has joined the “Adherent” scheme shall, upon receipt of the consent/request of the complainant, accepts to resolve any consumer dispute occurring in Macao in which the claims involved do not exceed the statutory value of appeal interest of the Court of First Instance (MOP100,000).
3. Detailed information regarding “Consumer Mediation and Arbitration Centre”, “Adherents”, and “Certified Shops” can be found in the leaflets published by the Consumer Council or on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo).
4. If sufficient information has been submitted for the application of becoming an “Adherent”, the Macao Consumer Mediation and Arbitration Centre will complete documents review and on-site confirmation, and approval results will be notified within 20 working days (except for businesses which fail to cooperate with on-site evaluation).
5. Entitlement of the “Certified Shop” emblem will be maintained only if the business accepts and passes non-periodic evaluations.
6. Application of becoming an “Adherent” can be carried out online.
